Before joining Northside ISD, I worked for Gateway Computers as the Training Manager for the Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico territory offering training to military, business and consumer clients in Microsoft Office applications, web design, graphics and desktop publishing software as well as video editing applications. During my season with Gateway, I created and produced multimedia training aids for train-the-trainer learning sessions on video editing, cross selling as well as best practices that was utilized internally for professional development nationwide. At Northside, I supervised and supported a team of Technology Support Specialist that managed campus technology issues, inventory and training to campus staff. I also taught a variety of courses to district-wide employees, managed the district-wide inventory management system, managed the Mobile Device Management system for devices issued to teachers and through an e-Learning environment, I am recognized as the “Face of Acceptable Use Policy Training.” Each year through my department, I have developed the online learning modules for this mandatory training based upon annually updated board approved regulations, provided the voice talent for each module, and rolled out this course to 14,000+ school district employees. For over a decade, each year this assignment was met with great success.
Along with constructing online courses using various Learning Management Systems (LMS) and instructional design techniques, as a lead trainer and multimedia specialist, I also wrote training materials for the courses offered to district employees, designed and supported the multimedia broadcast systems for campuses district-wide, presented at technology conferences and explored new learning technologies.
